I was commissioned by BBC Radio 3 to write and record an essay about a book that had a major impact on my life. I chose ‘For Coloured Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf’ by Ntozake Shange. It was broadcast in March 2011 but is no longer
